The Senate’s vote on whether to dilute or halt the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) greenhouse gas regulations has been delayed, according to reports.

It is mainly Republican Party members that are seeking to either abolish or change the EPA bill on carbon dioxide pollution that came into force early this year.
While the Senate was due to reach a result on Wednesday, the vote is now expected to be decided on Friday.
Republic party members have suggested that the new EPA energy regulations would drive up business expenditure. The EPA also faces a Republican move to remove the EPA’s power to enforce carbon pollution laws under the Clean Air Act, while the Democrats would like to see the agriculture sector exempt from the regulations.
Analysts have suggested that up to four EPA proposals could go to the vote and that at least 60 votes will be needed for any of these to be passed.
