Energy giant E.ON has signed a joint venture agreement with Swedish forest and paper-based products firm SCA on wind power developments.

E.ON will develop a number of wind power projects, including the areas already covered by SCA Vind's license applications for Hästkullen and Björnlandhöjden in Härnösand, Kramfors and Timrå municipalities, southern Ånge, and Ljusdal.

"The joint venture includes approximately 270 wind power stations and a total energy production of more than 2 TWh," says head of SCA Energy, Åke Westberg.

Decisions on further investment are expected in 2014/15, with new projects in operation by 2016/17 at the earliest.
