Italian cleantech developer Enel Green Power has secured €112m in financing through the Danish government's Export Credit Agency (EKF) for wind projects in Romania.

The company said it will use the 12-year funding to develop projects in the Eastern European country with a combined capacity of 118MW. In total, the company expects to spend €180m on the construction of the new facilities.

A guarantee through the EKF means interest on the loan will be less than the base rate and Enel will order some of the parts for the projects from Danish companies.

At the end of August, Enel completed the installation of a wind farm on the Greek island of Crete as well as a 10MW photovoltaic plant in Italy.
