US technology company Emerson has been contracted to supply utility-scale solar power inverters to Euro Projects for use on two plants with a combined capacity of 10MW in Sardinia, Italy.

The equipment will convert direct current power from the solar arrays into alternative current power, which can then be used directly on the electricity grid. As part of the deal, Emerson will also provide a control and monitoring solution.

Marco Lupini, president and owner of Euro Projects, said, 'We have a long-standing relationship with Emerson, so when this multi-array project came across my radar, Emerson was an obvious choice. It is so important for us to have ongoing assurance, and Emerson's strong financial stability and dependable, long-term warranty service capabilities were attractive to us. We firmly believe that working with Emerson helps position our company as a leader among alternative energy programs globally.'

Mark Bulanda, global leader for Emerson's solar and wind projects, added, 'The Euro Projects plants are another example of Emerson's commitment to generating renewable energy. We are pleased to be working with them, and we are happy to have this opportunity to supply critical technology to some of the largest and most innovative solar projects in Italy.'
