The Asia Pacific arm of global renewable energy developer Enfinity will use solar photovoltaic (PV) modules developed and built by China-based manufacturer JinkoSolar in its developments throughout 2011.

The two companies have signed a supply agreement under which the manufacturer will supply 100MW in solar panel equipment.
Enfinity announced this week that it has formed a public-private partnership with Belgian railway infrastructure operator Infrabel in order to fit the high-speed rail tunnel from Brussels to Amsterdam with 16,000 solar panels by the end of the year.
Enfinity Asia Pacific’s CEO Gino Van Neer said, ‘Our long-term cooperation with JinkoSolar is an important part of our success, as its modules will be utilised in several of our solar projects in Europe and North America.’
JinkoSolar’s board chairman Xiande Li said the partnership will enhance the company’s expansion efforts and increase its worldwide presence.
‘Following the first contract with Enfinity in the early second half of 2010, this additional contract is the result of our continuous commitment in providing high-quality modules and dedicated after sales services to our customers,’ said Li.
From JinkoSolar’s solar manufacturing operations are based in Jiangxi Province and Zhejiang Province in China, it serves customers throughout Europe, the US and Asia.
Enfinity, which mainly focuses on project development, construction and procuring investment funds, has installed around 200MW of solar PV projects globally. The company recently secured a $64m investment from Waterland as well as raising an additional $57m in capital to accelerate its strategic expansion.
