A recent Post Carbon item about the contest to become the next executive secretary for the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change left out the name of one candidate: Barbados' Elizabeth H. Thompson.

Thompson is one of several candidates for the position who hails from the developing world, along with Marthinus van Schalwyck from South Africa, Vijai Sharma from India, Maria Fernanda Espinoza from Ecuador, Tariq Banuri from Pakistan and Christiana Figueres from Costa Rica. Janos Pasztor, who heads the U.N. Secretary General's Climate Change Support Team, hails from Hungary and is the one candidate from a developed nation in the race.
Thompson served as Barbados' minister of the environment, and helped craft the climate agreement forged in Bali in 2007.
