US industrial support business Interek has added energy efficiency to its portfolio of services.

The company, which provides quality and safety solutions, has added energy efficiency testing capabilities at its laboratory in Fairfield, New Jersey.

It is now equipped to test for standards required for Energy Star in the US, NRCan in Canada and the California Energy Commission.

Multiple product categories are included, such as audio/visual, battery charging systems, computers, displays, imaging equipment and televisions.

Andy Gbur, vice president of operations at Intertek's commercial and electrical division, said, 'Intertek continues to seek and offer complementary services that add value to our clients' products and brands.

'A product's energy efficiency ratings can affect purchase decisions and Intertek is trusted by many global manufacturers to provide the testing and certifications needed to prove that their products meet the requirements.'
