UK-based Proton Motor Fuel Cell, a subsidiary ofProton Power, has signed a cooperation agreement with Germany's Modl for the sale of small-scale energy storage solutions.

Modl, which is Proton's sales partner in southern Germany, has a large customer base for stationary power supply, a market expected to expand rapidly in Germany following the country's decision to phase out nuclear power.

The companies will offer complete solutions based on Proton's hydrogen fuel call technology and Modl's product portfolio, targeting a range of 5kW to 120kW.

Thomas Melczer, director of business development at Proton, said, 'Partnering with Modl, the leading supplier of intelligent power system solutions, demonstrates that Proton Motor is a key supplier of hydrogen-based fuel cell technology in Germany.'

The deal should catalyse a revenue-boost at Proton, which recently revealed that its loss in 2011 had halved compared to the previous year.
