Canadian Solar has been contracted to supply photovoltaic (PV) modules with a 17MW capacity to Potentia Solar, an independent Ontario-based power generator.
Potentia will use the technology for more than 100 rooftop commercial systems, across metropolitan areas of the province.
Canadian Solar will deliver the modules on a per project basis, with all installations set to be completed in 2014.
Chris Asimakis, president and COO of Potentia, said, 'Potentia is committed to becoming a leading independent solar power producer in Ontario and delivering the best quality, high-performing solar systems.
'We are excited to work with Canadian Solar, a company with a sterling reputation for producing some of the most cost-effective and highest energy efficiency solar PV modules in the industry.'
Shawn Qu, chairman and CEO of Canadian Solar, added, 'We are proud of our continuing leadership role in building Ontario's alternative energy presence.
'Through this new master supply agreement, together Canadian Solar and Potentia are bringing more clean power, jobs and investment to the province.'
