German wind energy company REpower has been contracted to supply 25 turbines for a project in the US being developed by EDF subsidiary enXco.

The units, in combination with a previous deal, will supply the full capacity of the 102.5MW Shiloh IV project, located in California. Installation is expected to commence later this year.

Once complete, the Shiloh II, III and IV complex will have an installed capacity of 355MW. REpower will provide maintenance services for at least five years.

Andreas Nauen, CEO of REpower Systems SE, said, 'Since 2007 we have realised several wind farm projects with enXco in the US. This contract is another sign of confidence in our technology and execution capabilities.'

Steve Dayney, managing director of the US subsidiary of Repower, added, 'To date, we have installed or sold more than 600 wind turbines with a total capacity of over 1,200MW in the US. The MM92 turbine continues to be installed in variety of conditions and grid requirements across the country. We are happy to be working with enXco again to build on the success we have had together on prior projects.'
