BNP Paribas Clean Energy Partners has purchased three wind farms in France from European developer Nordex, for an undisclosed sum.

The facilities have a combined capacity of 35MW, bringing the fund's wind energy portfolio to more than 100MW. The new acquisitions consist of two operational plants and one currently under construction.

This is the first deal between the two companies and Nordex will retain an operational management role.

Joost Bergsma, CEO of Clean Energy Partners, said, 'This acquisition complements our previous wind farm acquisitions in Ireland, the UK and France, and maintains our momentum towards establishing a significant presence in the French wind energy sector.'

James Morris, a director at the fund, added, 'French wind farm assets feature a reliable long-term feed-in tariff with favourable inflation linkages. Taken together this creates predictable cash flows which are resilient to inflation.'

It has been a busy start of the year for Nordex which was contracted to supply turbines with a capacity of 42MW for a project in Ireland earlier this week.
