European wind turbine developer Gamesa has cemented its presence in China with the opening of a sixth manufacturing plant.
The facility is located in Tianjin and comes on the back of the Spanish firm contract to supply 48MW for a wind farm that Datang is planning to develop in Liaoning province.
The new manufacturing plant will produce electronics components and brings the company's production capacity in China over 1GW.
Over recent months, the company signed four new contracts to deliver 348MW in China to a number of power companies.
'Gamesa will continue to work with China to develop the wind energy industry,' said José Antonio Miranda, Gamesa China chairman and CEO. 'Tianjin is now our most important international manufacturing base, which we are building on by developing the best technology geared towards helping to improve this industry.'
