US solar manufacturer SunPower has delivered 12,000 photovoltaic (PV) panels to La Compaignie du Vent, a subsidiary of French utility GDF Suez.
The modules will be utilised in a 3.8MW ground-mounted PV plant which is scheduled for completion in the middle of 2012. It will be the largest solar project that La Compaignie du Vent has worked on to date.

We are impressed with the company's highest efficiency solar panels, which maximise capacity on space-constrained areas; a key driver for our choice of this PV technology.'

At the start of this month, SunPower announced third quarter net GAAP loss of $370 and announced it will be restructuring the company to try to get back on the path to profitability.
