European solar manufacturer Bisol has been contracted to supply 25MW of photovoltaic (PV) modules by Greek company Avdira Solar.
Avdira will distribute the modules in Greece next year and in addition the companies have created a plan to sell 100MW of panels in the Greek market over the next three years.
Polyvios Poulios, CEO of Avdira Solar, said, 'I am very pleased to be able to work together with Bisol in the Greek market. After visiting the production facilities in Slovenia we are even more convinced about the high quality of Bisol products and the dedication of Bisol's employees. We strongly believe that the European made Bisol modules will be very successful in Greece due to their outstanding quality and high energy yield.'
Uros Merc, president and CEO of Bisol, added, 'We expect a lot from the Greek market. It is a country with a lot of sunshine and consequently a lot of potential for solar energy. The partnership with Avida Solar is yet another step in our strategy to become a major player in the European market.'
The Greek economy is currently under extreme pressure with a partial default of government debt looking increasingly likely. In September, the country's Energy Minister George Papaconstantinou unveiled a strategy to make the country a renewable hub and attract outside capital investment.
