Spanish alternative energy company Acciona has completed the installation of three wind parks in Mexico with a total capacity of 306MW.

This positions the business at the forefront of wind developments in the country as it now is the largest asset owner with a total installed capacity of 556.5MW.

The new wind parks are located in Oaxaca and represent an investment of €450m.

The tender was originally awarded in March 2010 through a public tender by the Mexican Federal Electricity Commission.

Acciona said the assembly of the last turbine has been completed this week, and all the turbines will be powered up and gradually connected to the grid, a process that will take place from October to December this year.
