Spanish wind energy developer Gamesa has been contracted to supply turbines with a combined capacity of 14MW for a project in Sweden, which is the third deal the company has signed in country in four months.
The most recent order is from Swedish energy company Triventus and Gamesa will begin installation on the nine turbines at the Dal and Faleburg wind farms in November. It has also be contracted to handle transportation and start-up of the sites as well as providing maintenance for two years.
Gamesa will also supply two micro-generation projects in Sweden; the 6MW Lingbo facility being developed by Spanish Power subsidiary Spawer Kraft and a 1.7MW order through Swedish developer Eolus Vind. Gamesa said that Scandinavia is an important market the company's expansion strategy.
