Spanish photovoltaic (PV) company Solarig has so far invested €65m in 2010 into 21MW of solar projects in Italy, Spain and France. Cumulative investment is now more €400m and the company has now connected 105MW of PV projects in Europe.
Solarig's most significant investments have been in Italy so far this year where it has spent €40m on nine PV plants with a combined capacity of 13MW. It is developing two sites in France that will produce a combined 6.3MW and has completed two rooftop facilities in Spain with a 1.7MW total capacity.
The company is planning to develop 300MW of projects in the next few years and has interests in 15 countries.
Last month, Solarig saw operating profits leap by 171 per cent, a big contrast to the majority of solar companies that have had a tough year with pressure on sales and margins.
