Utility-scale solar developer Community Energy has picked Glenn Smith, formerly of FPL (now NextEra) as executive vice president of Development, to head up its solar development team.
Smith has also worked for Gamesa Energy and has extensive project finance experience at Bank of Tokyo Financial.
‘Glenn’s deep development and finance experience makes him the perfect match as we move our solar project portfolio into construction,’ said Community Energy CEO R. Brent Alderfer.
Community Energy has beefed up its team over the last few months, hiring Tom Tuffey as vice president of development operations, Gary Ferenz as director of origination, Todd Crawford as director of financial analysis and Ken Gray as senior developer.
The company was formed in 1999 and has offices in Pennsylvania and Colorado.
