Gestamp Wind North America, a partnership between Gestamp and Wind North America, said it hopes to become a major player in the US wind industry after completing its first wind farm.

Project developer Renewable Energy Systems (RES) Americas has finished the development of the Flat Water wind project in Kansas, which is owned by the partnership.
The 60MW project consists of 40 wind turbines manufactured by General Electric and was bid competitively under a tender launched by Gestamp Wind North America.
Javier Mateache, CEO of Gestamp Wind North America, said, ‘Gestamp Wind is very proud to be a part of the Nebraskan community for the next year and will continue to work to become a significant player in the US wind industry.’
RES Americas has a development portfolio of close to 10GW, with 5.2GW under construction.
