Scottish wind turbine supplier Shetland Wind Power will distribute turbine manufacturer Proven Energy’s small wind turbines as the result of their newly-strengthened partnership.

Since it was bought-out by Nevis Capital in December, Shetland Wind is tipped to become a major UK player, having doubled its turnover each year for the last three years.
This latest exclusive reseller partnership builds on and deepens a relationship it has held with Proven Energy for 17 years.
The two companies have inked a contract that will see Shetland Wind become the latest member of the Proven Energy value-added reseller network, committing to exclusively sell its small wind products.
Proven Energy director Steve McMahon said, ‘In line with Proven Energy’s position as the leader in small wind, we have actively been transforming and enhancing our global reseller network over the last 12 months.
‘Shetland Wind Power will now reinforce Proven Energy’s leadership position by bringing the perfect blend of technical capability and experience from Michael Anderson and his team, combined with the professional management expertise of Nevis Capital and Sandy Speirs.’
Shetland Wind Power’s technical director Michael Anderson is confident that Proven’s 35-2 wind turbine will appeal to its customers.
‘[The turbine] has recently achieved MCS certification, making its customers eligible for feed-in tariffs and is the only wind turbine in its class to do so. This allows us to offer a quality product which can also provide a tremendous financial return,’ he said.
From its bases in Shetland and Glasgow, Shetland Wind has installed more than 250 wind turbines in the UK.
