The solar subsidiary of India-based conglomerate Moser Baer Projects Private has inked a deal with First Solar to use 25MW of the solar manufacturer’s advanced thin-film modules for its solar projects.

The First Solar modules are due to be delivered mid-year and will be used for projects in Europe, the US, Australia and Asia, the company said.
Moser Baer Clean Energy is developing solar power projects in Germany, Italy, US, Australia and India, with an aggregate capacity of more than 300MWp, according to its global operations COO Lalit Jain.
Jain said the agreement marks the beginning of a mutually beneficial relationship that is expected to last for the long run.
First Solar executive vice president of marketing TK Kallenbach said, ‘India’s rich solar resource, unique energy needs and commitment to solar energy represent a tremendous opportunity for First Solar as we expand our global reach into emerging solar markets.’
Renewable energy project developer and operator Moser Baer Clean Energy, India’s largest solar developer, was established in 2008 to develop renewable power projects on a global scale.
The company has 500MWp under development in India, together with a European project portfolio exceeding 200MWp that is due to be developed this year.
