Traditional energy company EGPI Firecreek has finalised its acquisition of Arctic Solar Engineering (ASE), an integrator of solar thermal energy technology.
ASE’s solar collector technology is used to capture all visible and non-visible wave lengths of sunlight and convert it into energy at a 90 per cent efficiency rate, the company said.
The energy is stored in water and then used in its direct form to heat water or heat and cool spaces.
Dennis Alexander, CEO of EGPI Firecreek, said ASE would be added to its alternative energy division.
‘With current projects in hand and significant pending projects currently in our pipeline, we are confident that our expertise and abilities combined with Arctic’s technologies, will enable us to establish a strong presence in the industry within a very short period of time,’ he said.
EGPI Firecreek announced in late January that it was looking to expand into renewable energy sector through the acquisition.
