Wind turbine developer REpower Systems saw its revenues drop for the first nine months of the 2010/2011 fiscal year to €758m, compared with €920.5m for the same period the year before.
At €44.4m EBIT was also down, by about 21 per cent, but it did record an increase in its order backlog.
From April to December 2010, new orders were received for a total capacity of 1.02GW representing a volume of more than €1.1bn.
REpower said this represents a substantial increase in incoming orders and is largely attributable to the conclusion of contracts for offshore products.
The company recently downgraded its forecast for the entire 2010/2011 period and said it expects to record a total performance of €1.25bn to €1.35bn from €1.5bn to €1.6bn.
It said the reason for adjusting the forecast was that increasing numbers of projects are being postponed, particularly owing to outstanding funding commitments.
