Innotech Solar (ITS) is to buy a 33 per cent stake in REC Solar’s module production facility in Glava, Sweden, alongside Perfekta Solar.

The Norwegian company said the proximity of the Glava factory – which has an annual production capacity of 150MW – to its processing plant in Norway, will allow for fast deliveries.
Due to launch new competitively-priced solar modules midway through the year, ITS said it is striving for increased efficiency within the solar value-added chain.
It addresses this by returning rejected cells to their full capacity through a testing and optimisation process.
‘The Glava site boasts one of Europe’s most modern solar factories,’ said Innotech Solar CEO Thor-Christian Tuv.
‘This step towards the vertical integration of the value-added chain is being taken at an ideal moment in time: our European cell production capacity will increase from 35MW to 135MW this year.’
Headquartered in Norway, ITS has subsidiaries in Germany, China, and Switzerland.
