Global solar company Yingli Green Energy has secured a three-year sales contract, which will see it supply 220MW of photovoltaic (PV) modules to solar developer and system integrator SAG Solarstrom until 2013.

The company is set to deliver solar modules from 2011, which will be installed in residential, commercial rooftop and ground-mounted power projects across the European markets that SAG operates in.
Yingli CEO Liansheng Miao said, ‘This long-term contract reflects the trust and confidence that our customers have in Yingli Green Energy’s ability to meet their increasing requirements on a consistent basis.
‘We recognise that strong support from our channel partners and loyal customers is a key success factor for our sustainable growth in this fast-growing and competitive industry.’
With a production capacity exceeding 1GW, Yingli Green Energy’s manufacturing covers the entire photovoltaic value chain, from the production of polysilicon through ingot casting and wafering, to solar cell production and module assembly.
The company is adding 700MW of capacity expansion through two projects it is constructing in the Chinese provinces Baoding and Hainan, which are due to begin production in mid-2011 and will increase its capacity to 1.7GW.
Yingli began producing polysilicon at its in-house plant, Fine Silicon, in August. The NYSE-listed company distributes its PV modules to a range of markets across Europe, Asia and the US.
