A subsidiary of photovoltaic module manufacturer Solon has finished construction on two turnkey solar power plants in the foothills of the Alps in Provençal France.
The site, which is being developed by Solon Investments, was formerly the home of two nuclear missile launch pads used by the French army until they were abandoned in the 1990s.
‘We are delighted that our first solar power plants in France are finally completed. It serves as a top-notch reference for our sales subsidiary in Lyon to use the opportunities in the fast growing photovoltaic market in France,’ said Alain Desvigne, CEO of SOLON SAS.
The two projects will generate a combined total of 3MW of capacity.
German-based SOLON specialises in producing solar modules and photovoltaic systems as well as planning and constructing large rooftop installations and turnkey solar power plants worldwide.
