Juwi Group, a project developer of renewable energies, has established a subsidiary in Bangalore, India. The company plans to install a number of solar power plants with a total combined capacity exceeding 100MW starting in 2011.
Rajesh Bhat, president of the Juwi subsidiary in India, said, ‘India currently provides excellent conditions for the solar industry and the country has the most attractive market in all of Asia.’
Currently, the Indian government is participating in the Global Climate Change Initiative and is planning to increase the total installed capacity of solar energy to 20,000MW by 2022.
Headquartered in Germany and with subsidiaries in France, Spain, Italy, Greece, the US and Costa Rica, Juwi produces a total output of over 650MW from wind turbines and over 600MW from photovoltaic systems.
