The Highland Council has crossed the planning finish line by getting the go-ahead to install 35 wind turbines in south-east Sutherland, UK.
The wind farm, which is being developed by SSE Renewables at Gordonbush, has an output of 71.75MW with associated sub-station control building, cabling, anemometer masts and other infrastructure.
Law firm Harper Macleod advised The Highland Council on the planning agreements and legislation related to the maintenance of public roads, restoration of the site, community benefit and compliance with a Habitat Management Plan in respect of the natural environment.
Harper McLeod senior planning solicitor and associate Lee Murphy said, ‘We’re proud to have helped this project cross the finish line and to have made a contribution to meeting the government’s renewable energy targets.’
Scotland-based Harper Macleod has advised on a number of large-scale renewable energy projects, most recently advising the Forestry Commission Scotland on the development of its estate for hydro and wind.
