European wind energy company Nordex has been contracted to construct a 42.5MW wind farm in Tipperary, south-west Ireland, by state energy supplier Bord Gais.
The Garracummer facility will consist of 17 turbines, with construction on the foundations set to commence in August. Once complete, Nordex will provide maintenance services for a 15-year period.
Lars Bondo Krogsgaard, chief customer officer at Nordex SE, said, 'With Garracummer we hope to be able to intensify our partnership [with Bord Gais] into the future.'
At the end of 2011, Nordex's US arm won a contract to supply turbines for a 30MW project in Texas.
