Danish wind energy company Vestas has been appointed as preferred supplier for two projects with a combined capacity of 138MW in South Africa.
The deal is subject to further negotiations between the project managers and Vestas, with more information to be released when firm and unconditional offers are in place.
It has been a busy period for Vestas with the company receiving its first order in the Ukraine at the end of November and winning a contract to supply turbines with a combined capacity of 168MW in Australia.
However, at the start of November Vestas announced it will implement a plan to cut fixed costs by an annual €150m by the end of 2012, this process will include redundancies
