UK renewable energy consultancy Natural Power has partnered with wind power engineering adviser Inova Energy to develop asset management services in Brazil.
Natural Power currently performs wind management services on 64 wind farms in the UK and Ireland including recent contracts to oversee 13 installations for Bord Gais and a deal with Infinis for facilities with a combined capacity of 67MW.
Inova is based in Brazil and offers specialised consultancy services for the development, construction and operation of wind developments and has so far worked on 94 projects in the country.
Scott MacKenzie, director of asset management at Natural Power, said, 'This is an exciting development for Natural Power and Inova. We have recognised a unique opportunity to work together to bring our asset management services to the Brazilian market.'
Marcos Miranda, managing director at Inova Energy, added, 'The Brazilian wind energy market is going through a challenging phase with increasing contracted capacity and decreasing prices. We are delighted to be working with Natural Power who offers its expertise on asset management to the benefit of the Brazilian market.'
The wind energy market in Brazil is expected to develop rapidly over the next few years and the country has recently issued energy tender auctions in which the technology dominated proceedings.
