Solar farm developer EPG Solar has secured up to $200m in financing from boutique investment bank Unique Capital to fund the development and construction of its project pipeline.

The company said the solar projects it plans to deploy with the new capital will be based along the US east coast and have a total generating capacity of close to 50MW.
EPG’s CFO Michael Borkowski said, ‘Given the tight capital markets for renewable energy projects, this agreement provides our site hosts and energy off takers with additional security that projects will be completed in a timely manner.’
The US-based company’s CEO Robert Babcock said that getting projects into service quickly is important for obtaining the best pricing and providing maximum financial benefits to hosting partners.
Texas-based bank and advisory firm Unique Capital focuses on project financing for solar, wind and waste-to-energy projects, targeting the US, Canada and Mexico markets. The group said it expects to advise on more than 400MW of renewable energy projects in the coming year.
