Chinese solar company Baoding Tianwei SolarFilms and US solar technology provider Sunvalley Solar have formed a new strategic partnership in the US that may see them form a joint venture or merge into a single entity.
The companies said that forming a joint venture, merger, acquisition or local manufacturing collaboration will be a key objective of their partnership.
They signed an agreement to enhance their existing partnership and have mapped out future short- and long-term plans.
These plans include offering a US-manufactured solar package and targeting solar product sales to the agricultural sector.
Both companies aim to manufacture solar equipment in the US market and already provide solar systems with thin-film technology and greenhouse integration.
Through their partnership, they aim to reduce manufacturing and marketing costs, and extend opportunities to develop solar systems and equipment.
As Tianwei SolarFilms’ premium partner in the US market, Sunvalley will develop thin-film solar systems using Tianwei’s solutions and assist them in providing pre- and post-sale services.
Tianwei SolarFilms will continue to provide Sunvalley with thin-film packages and technical support, also providing panels for the greenhouse projects they plan to jointly market in the US.
