US solar module developer Ascent Solar Technologies has inked a distribution agreement with Singapore-based photovoltaic installer Polymeur Sun to deepen its penetration of emerging solar markets in Asia.
The agreement will see Polymeur Sun distribute Ascent’s thin-film copper indium gallium selenide modules for building-integrated and portable power solutions in Singapore and Malaysia.
Ascent Solar said the contract gives it access to multiple segments in South East Asia’s emerging solar market, including application to building materials for grid-connected and off-grid solar systems.
Ascent Solar CEO Farhad Moghadam said, ‘This relationship will give us access to new and emerging market opportunities in South East Asia’s rapidly growing solar market.’
Moghadam said the company also expects other products in its line of solar modules including standalone technology to be marketed through the same relationship.
