http://www.newenergyworldnetwork.com/renewable-energy-news/by-technology/solar/greece-looks-to-invest-e600m-in-200mw-solar-project.htmlGreece is set to build the world’s largest solar power plant in a €600m investment, according to reports, in a move that may stimulate the country’s struggling economy.

The 200MW photovoltaic power plant will be built on a site near an ageing conventional power station in the north of the country, the Financial Times said.
To complete the project, Greek utility Public Power Corp is said to be seeking an international partner to secure all necessary investments.
Bloomberg said the partner is expected to be chosen in mid-2011 with the project completed in the next 18 months.
In September, Greece approved a number of green energy schemes worth more than €2bn in an attempt to attract investment into its then very fragile economy.
Together, those projects had a total capacity of 840MW and are worth more than €2bn. These have all been approved by the country’s Regulatory Authority for Energy.
