Taiwan-based solar cell manufacturer Motech Industries has agreed to increase the quantity of multi-crystalline silicon solar cells it will supply under a deal with global solar photovoltaic (PV) product provider Day4 Energy.
It is set to increase the volume of solar cells it will deliver to the company, in early 2011.
George Rubin, president of Day4 Energy, said, ‘This agreement contributes to ensure sufficient supply required to feed our European facility, as well as our network of Day4 solar system manufacturing partners.’
As one of the top solar cell manufacturers worldwide in terms of capacity and output, Motech has increased its annual cell production for 2011 by approximately 700MW.
Headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, Day4 Energyalso recently completed the acquisition of solar equipment maker ACI eco-Tec.
This followed a turnkey manufacturing programme that allows participants to swiftly establish a production facility and generate revenue growth, which it launched earlier in the year to expand market penetration.
