Power energy major Siemens continues to expand its international manufacturing network in the wind power business with the completion of production plants in China and the US.
In addition to the Shanghai and Kansas plants, Siemens has also selected a site in Ontario, Canada for a new rotor blade manufacturing site. The three new locations represent an investment volume of €100m.
Commenting on the prospects of clean energy sources, Wolfgang Dehen, CEO of Siemens energy sector said, ‘The global wind power market will grow from about €30bn annually to as much as €216bn by 2030. We see major growth potential in particular in the US and China.’
Siemens is already planning the construction of other wind turbine production facilities in the UK, India and China, as well as a joint venture for the production of wind turbine components for the Russian market.
