Evergreen Solar, a manufacturer of solar technology, reported record shipments of 42.6MW in the latest quarter compared with 39.8MW in the second quarter, an increase of about seven per cent.

Michael El-Hillow, president and CEO of Evergreen, said, ‘Demand for the high quality and performance of Evergreen Solar panels continues to be strong.  As such, we expect shipments in the fourth quarter to be in the range of about 48MW.’
The company is now expanding its in-house production and in September, held an opening ceremony for a new facility in Wuhan, China.  The facility has already produced 3.4MW of solar products since its launch.
Evergreen Solar develops, manufactures and markets solar power products using its proprietary, silicon wafer technology, which uses significantly less polysilicon than conventional processes.
