In the run-up to the global climate meet at Cancun in Mexico this year-end, the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) has launched a photo and video contest showcasing benefits of green projects that are promoted under its ambit.

The aim is to raise awareness about the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) under the Kyoto Protocol that was signed by UN members to take steps to tackle climate change threats.
"The international photo and video contest 2010, on the theme 'CDM changing lives' is aimed at raising awareness of the CDM to help the world learn about its value," said a statement issued by the UNFCCC.
Photos and videos that tell an interesting CDM story or that showcase CDM projects or their related benefits have been invited from any photographer or digital video producer -- amateur or professional -- across the world.
