Europe sees US on board at Cancun despite Obama reverse
PARIS — Europe is confident of US support at this month's Cancun climate talks despite President Barack Obama's poll reverse and believes other top global polluter, China, is acting on climate change, the EU's climate chief Connie Hedegaard told AFP.

Japan CO2 emissions from fuel fall 5.6 pct last FY
TOKYO, Nov 9 (Reuters) - Japan's emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) from burning fuel fell 5.6 percent in the year to March, the trade ministry said on Tuesday, in a second straight annual drop due to weakness in the economy.

Capital to host meet on climate change
Ahead of the UN climate change meet in Cancun, representatives from over 50 nations will gather here for a two-day conference next week to deliberate on mechanisms to ensure clean technologies to tackle global warming. The "informal ministerial dialogue on Climate Change: Technology Mechanism" will be held on November 9-10 in cooperation with Mexico and the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA).
